AML is committed to protecting your privacy. That is why we want to inform you as much as possible about what happens with your personal data. Below you will find information about what data we collect, why we do this, how long we keep it, what your privacy rights are and how you can exercise them.

We collect and process your personal data (identification data, administrative data, medical data) for the following purposes:

  • Carrying out clinical biological, molecular biological and pathological analyzes
  • Performing occupational medicine, toxicological and judicial analyzes
  • Performing analyzes by external laboratories
  • In connection with the aforementioned analyzes: processing customer administration, processing invoices, monitoring solvency, checking insurability, sending newsletters and information to healthcare providers

We collect your personal data when you present yourself with your electronic identity card (eID) to your doctor or in our laboratory for medical analyzes. Your identification data will be verified with the National Register database to ensure that the results of our examinations and analyzes are correctly linked to you as a patient who places trust in A.M.L.. The unambiguous identification of patients is a legal obligation.

The analysis in health care is carried out on the basis of research prescriptions from doctors. A.M.L. is a legally recognized laboratory and meets the strict requirements of the legislation regarding recognized laboratories. The laboratory will direct the analysis results exclusively to the client, unless the latter gives a different order in writing.

If this is necessary to achieve the stated purposes, we share your personal data with third parties who support us in our medical analyzes (such as other laboratories of the Sonic Healthcare Benelux Group), parties that provide us with ICT services, various social security institutions. (health insurance funds, NIHDI, CoZo, …) to the extent necessary for the execution of our processing and to comply with our legal obligations.
The laboratory guarantees that these recipients will take the necessary technical and organizational measures to protect the personal data.

A.M.L. makes every effort to guarantee your privacy. From this perspective, we have implemented security technologies and measures based on a risk analysis to guarantee the availability, confidentiality and integrity of your personal data. In addition, access to your personal data is strictly limited to those persons who need the data to carry out the relevant processing processes in order to achieve our purposes described above.

We assure you that we ensure that the third parties that receive and process your personal data take the necessary measures to protect your privacy.

We only use your data for the purposes stated above and only for the time necessary to achieve those purposes, taking into account the legal retention periods. The retention periods are included in the register of processing activities.

• Right of access: you have the right to obtain information at any time about whether or not your personal data is being processed and, if this is the case, to obtain the necessary information about this;
• Right to rectification: you have the right to have incomplete, inappropriate or outdated personal data rectified without delay;
• Right to be forgotten: under certain conditions and without unreasonable delay, you have the right to have your personal data deleted;
• Right to restriction of processing: you have the right to obtain restriction of processing under certain conditions;
• Right to data portability: you have the right to recover your personal data in a readable format;
• Right of objection: you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data on the basis of your specific situation.
• Right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing: AML does not use profiling or automated processing.
• Right to withdraw consent in the context of cookies (‘cookie consent’)

You can exercise these privacy rights free of charge, unless your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive due to its repetitive nature.
When you request to exercise your privacy rights, we always verify your identity to ensure that only you comes into contact with your personal data.
